The Energy Commission has cancelled the licences of about 25 certified professional electricians this year alone.
Programme Officer at the Commission, Mr Stephen N-ebe Yomoh, said their licences were withdrawn for violating electrical wiring regulations 2011, (L.I 2008).
"Some of them did not visit the site, yet they filled in installation completion certificate; they forged figures. Some of them don't have instruments and they claimed they have instruments...," he said.
Mr Yomoh pointed out that some of the certified electricians also overcharged their customers, which infringed on laid-down regulations.
He said this at the 10th electrical wiring certificate award presentation ceremony held in Kumasi on Friday, 19 October 2018.
He further advised the general public to always engage the services of certified electricians when they want to do electrical wiring at homes.
