The Ministry of Energy has organized a 2- day International Petroleum Contracts Masterclass workshop at Ho in the Volta Region.
The workshop was aimed at building the capacity of Ghanaians who often represent the country in the petroleum contracting processes.
It was facilitated by Dr. Ken Mildwaters, a world renowned academic and consultant with specialty in petroleum contracting and brought together officials from the Energy Ministry, Ministry Ministry of Finance, the Attorney General’s department, the Petroleum Commission as well as officials from BOST and GNPC.
In a brief remarks at the opening ceremony, Minister for Energy, John Peter Amewu asked participants to ensure that they take advantage of the rare opportunity to develop their knowledge base and skills extensively.
This, he explained is because Ghana is gradually migrating from being an 'oilfield' into an oil industry, hence require people with expertise to champion developments in the sector.
He charged the facilitator of the workshop to give his best to ensure that the participants benefit from the workshop.
