Etv’s ‘Ghana Most Influential Awards’ due on April 19

e.tv Ghana will on Friday April 19 hold the 3rd edition of its ‘Ghana’s Most influential Awards ceremony’. The Awards will recognize Ghanaians who made a great impact in the Ghanaian Community in 2012 as voted by the station’s viewers.

Mr. Ebo Gyebi, station Manager of e.tv Ghana, noted that ‘these Awards seek to spotlight Ghanaians who are making a huge impact in the society "We are passionate about recognizing our heroes and to acknowledge their works; we hope that through such events millions of Ghanaians will be inspired to succeed no matter their field of endeavor”.

In the months of November and December each month, ETV conducts a poll through texting to select the names of people perceived by the public to have made a great impact on the society. For the 2012 Awards, a total of 9619 text messages were received from all the ten regions of Ghana. This is an achievement for a station which does not have nationwide coverage yet.

Past winners of the topmost award are Cardinal Turkson for the year 2010 and Joseph Siaw-Agyepong for 2011.

The event, which will be held at Villa Monticello at Airport Residential in Accra, will be broadcast live on e.tv Ghana. Highlights of the broadcast will be shown on Metro TV, Silverbird TV in Nigeria, K24 in Kenya, e.tv South Africa, and on the Africa Channel in the United Kingdom. Steve Bedie, ace Ghanaian saxophonist and the Noyam Dance group will perform at the ceremony.
