The Executive Women Network (EWN), Ghana's pre-eminent network for professional women and women entrepreneurs, climaxed its 3rd Anniversary celebrations with a Roundtable Lunch at the Golden Tulip Hotel Accra, calling for fair opportunities and greater participation of women in leadership roles on the African continent.

In an address, the Chairperson of Executive Women Network, Pearl Esua-Mensah congratulated women leaders driving outstanding performance in various levels of leadership and for playing their roles to make a positive claim for other women to have fair and equal opportunities in their organizations and the Ghanaian society.

She continued, “women are not new to leadership, over the years they have played their roles effectively to drive progress in their organisations and the society at large. But we continue to see gender disparity in corporate leadership, board appointments and representation in governments across the African continent. As leaders, we all have a role to play to drive gender balance and greater equality in our organisations, in government and the wider society”. She concluded, “in as much as we make this call, we will be the first to encourage women to step up and put themselves forward for leadership positions everywhere they find themselves. Women have more to offer their organisations, communities and country when they put themselves forward for leadership positions. As more women excel in these roles, they create the space for more women to be included”. The Roundtable Lunch, held under the theme: Realizing Balance for Better: Women Being Denied Opportunities or Women Not Stepping Up? crowned a month-long celebrations of the Network.
