FBNBank Ghana launches MoneyGram

The official launch of FBN Bank Ghana and MoneyGram, took place at the Maxlot Hotel in Accra on Thursday, 27th November, 2014.

The event, which was graced by Mr. Oluseyi Oyefeso, MD/CEO FBN Bank Ghana Limited, a team from MoneyGram comprising of Patrick A. Appiah, Senior Business Operations Executive in Anglo West Africa, Kofi Akyea, Senior Marketing Manager, Anglophone West Africa, Kemi Okusanya, Senior Business Operations Executive, among other invited guests and a section of the press, significantly saw another milestone in the bank’s money transfer business, which is meant to enhance accessibility to financial services across the country.

The launch signifies the formal commencement of MoneyGram International Services by FBNBank Ghana Limited sequel to the formal integration and brand launch of FBNBank Ghana, in Accra, Ghana, on the 8th of October, 2014.

MoneyGram Services is one of the ways in which the group ensures an easy and faster cash transfer across the sub region.

In a brief speech, Seyi Oyesefo, MD, FBN Bank, Ghana, said, “Today, we are here to witness the launch of MoneyGram Services as an addition to our money transfer platforms after the launch of FBN Bank Ghana. This will leverage the various e-platform capabilities of the bank in touching the lives of our numerous customers in the Diaspora who seek to send money home on regular basis to their loved ones for various uses.”

Kemi Okusanya, Senior Business Operations Executive of MoneyGram added that, “from their end, they were glad to have this come true as customers will be walking into the era of enjoying the dividends of the financial integration and economic partnership that the two financial brands will offer across the sub region.”

MoneyGram is an international money transfer service that allows customers receive remittance from family and friends in the diaspora to meet various personal needs.

FBN Bank Ghana has 17 branches and 2 agencies making it 19 locations and the new services will be available at all 19 locations.

This partnership will bring more options to Ghanaians.
