Finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta, has asserted that Ghana has the necessary resources to get the country's economy back on track. He made this assertion during the G5 event in Germany.

According to him, the Akuffo-Addo administration inherited a very difficult situation when it assumed office. He disclosed that the current government was left with a 8.9 deficit, a negative primary balance, as well as a 72% debt to GDP ratio.

He added that the current administration can harness the resources available to them to help put the country's economy back on track.

"We have the capacity we have the people we have messed up in the past
and it is a new dawn and i think we need to basically challenge ourselves
so let's not become weary of doing good for at the end of the day we shall reap a harvest of an independent Ghana or African countries that will surpass all that we do", he said.

The Finance Minister said that Ghana is also potentially a pillar of stability for the African region. Thus, there was the need for a different treatment.

He concluded that Africa was ready for a new dawn and hoped that the Compact with Africa Programme becomes a game changer that Africa, as well as the world, need.
