French business delegation to visit Ghana

Accra, June 5, GNA - A delegation of French businessmen, organised by French Business Confederation (MEDEF), will visit Ghana from June 10-12 to evaluate the general business climate in Ghana and promote exchange and investments opportunities.

The delegation, which would be in Ghana under a programme prepared by the Economic Mission of the Embassy of France and supported by the local section of the network of French businessmen based in Ghana, is also aimed at strengthening the relationship between MEDEF and its Ghanaian counterpart, the Private Enterprise Foundation (PEF). A statement issued by the French Embassy in Accra said a Memorandum of Understanding would be signed by both organisations. The French business delegations would also interact with the French business community in Ghana.

It said the delegation, consisting of 15 high level managers from different sectors, would be led by Mr. Patrick Lucas, President of MEDEF International Africa Committee and Chairman and CEO of Gras Savoye Group. The visit by MEDEF to Ghana is the first for 10 years. The companies represented are involved in a wide range of activities - banking and finance; insurance; energy; transport; international trade; certifications and services to governments; information technology; logistics; water-environment-infrastructure engineering; and telecommunications. "This visit to Ghana is indicative of France's desire to increase cooperation and links with the Ghanaian economy. France considers itself a friend of Ghana and has in recent years strengthened its cooperation with Ghana," the statement said.
