Frytol launches cooking reality show to support profitable food businesses

Wilmar Africa Limited, the producers of oil brand, Frytol, has launched the Frytol “Enriching Lives Cooking Competition” with the aim to unearth and support talents across the country from various food and culinary disciplines in a bid to empower profitable food businesses.

Senior Brand Manager for the Wilmar Africa, Eva Njeru, speaking at the launch in Accra on October 14, explained that the 13-week reality show will see the best talent take home a grand prize of up to GH¢100,000 worth of business investments.

“The carefully designed reality show will empower individuals who will be measured on their culinary skills, presentation skills, business acumen and communications skills, so it’s not just about giving money to them, we want to empower them to be able start up their own culinary business. We will also train, support and mentor the best candidate to start their dream business,” she added.

According to her, 10 contestants have already been selected out of hundreds who were auditioned by the Enriching Lives team when they earlier embarked on a nationwide search.

Njeru said contestants will be evaluated by a panel of judges each week and together with the public through voting, on shot code 161, a contestant will be evicted until a winner is crowned.

“The show promises to be exciting and informative with a health and nutrition segment accompanied with sizzling drama as people from different backgrounds come together under one roof to compete for the enviable prize,” Njeru added.

The show is however expected to air every Saturday from November 9, 2019 at 6:00pm on TV3 and Joy Prime.
