GCB loss drags down bourse

Accra, Oct. 13, GNA - A 500-cedi loss by Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) in trading on Wednesday dragged down the bourse despite another good performance by Fan Milk Limited (FML).

The GSE All-Share Index, the main market index, lost 24.97 points to 6,997.60 points on account of the GCB loss. Change for the year ended at 96.93 per cent.

GCB slumped to 13,000 cedis while FML gained 900 cedis at 18,500 cedis and Mobil Oil Ghana Limited was up by one cedi at 38,001 cedis. Total number of shares that changed hands ended at 164,000 while market capitalisation closed at 97,197.13 billion cedis from 3,425.70 million issued shares.
