Accra, Aug. 12, GNA - The Board of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) has appointed Mr Samuel Amankwah as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Finance of the Bank. Mr Amankwah's appointment took effect from Friday, August 1, 2008 and he replaces Mr Martin Mensah, who retired on July 29, 2008. A press statement issued by the Bank's Public Relations Department said Mr Amankwah, until his new appointment was the General Manager, Treasury Division.
He served as the Deputy Head of the Accounts Division of the Bank from March 2000 to August 2007.
According to the statement, Mr Amankwah holds a Master of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from De-Montfort University, Leicester, UK. He is a product of EWAT College of Accountancy, London, a Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants CA (GH) and had his secondary education at Acherensua Secondary School in Brong Ahafo Region. The statement said between April 1985 and March 1987, Mr Amankwah served as Production Accounts Manager on secondment to Guinness Ghana Limited from UAC Ghana Limited and as Auditor for Unilever (UAC) Ghana Limited between 1982 to 1985. 12 Aug. 08
