GCB to outdoor New Banking Concept.

Kumasi, Oct 10, GNA- Mr Franklin Asamoah, a Board Member of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), has disclosed that management of the bank would soon outdoor a new banking concept designed to inject professionalism into its operations.

He said the concept dubbed "Royal Banking", was aimed at ensuring the delivery of convenient and high quality service by the GCB and also reduce the long queues that normally created congestion in the halls of the bank.

The Board Member said the concept was also expected to in the long-term, position the banking services of GCB to meet the needs of customers and emerging challenges of the global banking environment. Mr. Asamoah was speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a new bank complex of the GCB at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi on Tuesday. The project is being executed by Consar Construction Company Limited at the cost of GH=A214.9 million and is expected to be completed in nine months.

"The hall-marks of the GCB's Royal Banking Concept are flexibility, speed and to create convenience for all manner of professionals who valued time and want expedited service", the Board member said. He said the GCB had successfully piloted its internet banking and that management was set to implement it fully, adding that it had also networked all its 135 branches throughout the country to streamline activities of the bank.

Professor Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa, Vice-Chancellor of the KNUST commended the bank for its decision to build a new banking complex on the campus to serve the needs of students and the catchment area of the University. He appealed to corporate bodies to commit resources to improving upon the infrastructure of the University to facilitate academic work.
