GHACEM gives cement to institutions and communities

Koforidua, Nov. 8, GNA- The Ghana Cement Factory (GHACEM) Foundation has presented 4,285 bags of cement estimated at over 214 million cedis to 47 deprived communities and institutions in the Eastern Region.

Nana Pra Agyemsem, the Chairman of the GHACEM Foundation and a Member of the Council of State, presented the items to the beneficiary communities and institutions.

He said since the Foundation was established two years ago, it had donated cement worth over one billion cedis to deprived communities and institutions in the country.

Mr Aaron Adjei-Lomofio, the Regional Depot Manager of GHACEM, said the Foundation was established to enable the Company to fulfil its social responsibilities to the communities where the it is sited. He expressed the hope that the beneficiary communities and institutions would use the cement for the projects for which they were donated.

Mr Sampson Felix Nyanin, the Assistant Headmaster of the Akwamuman Secondary School, on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the Foundation for the gesture and appealed to other organisations to support developments initiated by the people.
