The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) has partnered with Koforidua Technical University (KTU) to strengthen digital skills training in the Eastern Region through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This collaboration is part of GI-KACE's broader mission to deliver essential digital skills to communities across Ghana.

During the MoU signing ceremony at KTU, Ing. Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari, Director General of GI-KACE, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that it will support the eSkills4Jobs program in the Eastern Region.

This program aligns with Ghana’s digitalization agenda and the Ghana Digital Acceleration Project (GDAP), both aimed at fostering digital transformation across the country.

Prof. John Owusu, Vice Chancellor of KTU, also shared his optimism, highlighting the benefits this partnership will bring to the youth and residents of the Eastern Region.

He emphasized that the practical digital skills training will empower students and drive local economic growth by developing a digitally proficient workforce.

During his visit to KTU, Ing. Dr. Yeboah-Afari addressed participants in the ongoing eSkills4Jobs training, urging Ghanaian youth to take advantage of this opportunity.

He stressed the importance of equipping young people with the skills needed to navigate and succeed in the rapidly evolving digital world.

The MoU will facilitate ongoing collaboration between GI-KACE and KTU, enabling the delivery of digital skills training and capacity development programs across the region.

This strategic partnership is expected to expand the reach of digital education and enhance local training initiatives.

GI-KACE, established over two decades ago, has been instrumental in bridging the digital divide by offering ICT training in rural and urban communities across Ghana.

With branches in Bono (Sunyani), Upper West (Bolga), and Greater Accra, this MoU marks a significant step toward expanding digital skills training nationwide, providing students and community members with essential practical skills for the future.
