The Ghana Netherlands Bussiness and Culture Council (GNBCC) will this evening August 14, 2015 announce the winner for the final of the New Bussiness Challenge 2015.
The event will be held the Dutch Ambassador’s Residence from 7pm to 9pm.
The New Business Challenge is a unique business case competition in which 20 Dutch and 20 Ghanaian students work together in Ghana and the Netherlands on actual business cases of companies.
The challenge is all about discovering new opportunities for the private sector and maximizing the entrepreneurial potential of the student participants.
This project is initiated by the Dutch government, carried out by SustainableMotion, and the Ghana part of the challenge is organized by GNBCC. Other parties involved are, Cross Wise Works and UPSA University.
Since June the students have worked together for 2 months in mixed teams on actual business cases from five participating companies.
Ten mixed teams of 4, all consisting of 2 Dutch and 2 Ghanaian students, have worked on finding sustainable investment and trade solutions for those companies. The teams started off by working online together at the end of June and then went on two study trips to work on the cases together.
The Ghanaian students first went to the Netherlands from 18 July to 27 July, and then the Dutch students came to Ghana from 6 August to 16 August.
Especially in Ghana they planned many field trips and business meetings to carry out their research to develop a solution to the business cases.
Throughout the project the students were coached and supported by Dutch and Ghanaian experts and professionals.
Today, on Friday the 14th, everything will come to an end in Accra, at the Dutch Ambassador’s Residence where the winner will be announced by an independent jury.
They will choose the overall winner of the New Business Challenge 2015; after announcing the winner, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Hans Docter, will hand over the trophy to the winning team.
