The Ghana Revenue Authority has indicated that there will be an unannounced nationwide inspection of vehicles from October 1, 2024.

The exercise, according to the authority, is to impound uncustomed vehicles.

The Customs Division of the authority has therefore announced a two-month amnesty for users of uncustomed vehicles, effective August 1 to September 30, 2024.

According to a notice signed by the Commissioner-General of the GRA, this amnesty waives all penalties that would typically apply if such vehicles were impounded by Customs personnel.

The Commissioner-General has asked all users of uncustomed vehicles to take advantage of this opportunity to regularise the documentation of cars that have been illegally imported into the country.
