Accra, April 25, GNA - The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark measure, rose on Wednesday as the market tried to shake off its dull performance since Monday.
The index went up by 1.56 points to close at 5,137.13 points from 5,135.57 points on Tuesday.
Change for year was up at 2.62 per cent while traded volumes were significantly higher at 568,900 from 28,100 shares. On Monday, a mere 16,900 shares changed hands at the bourse.
On the broader market, there were five price changes, all positive. Ecobank Ghana gained two cedis at 14,155 cedis, Anglogold Ashanti Depository Shares gained 90 cedis at 3,400 cedis, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) gained one cedi to close at 9,369 cedis, Standard Chartered Bank was one cedi up at 180,007 cedis while Total Petroleum was also better by one cedi at 54,261 cedis. Market capitalization closed at 113,329.27 billion cedis from 113,282.94 billion cedis.
