GSE Index in good gain

Accra, Sept. 12, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All Share-Index on Friday made a healthy gain although total shares traded remained low.

The Index, the main market gauge, was up 14.9 points to close at 2,612.34 points.

Shares that changed hands went up slightly to 67,600 from to 62,500 shares on Wednesday.

There were seven price changes, all positive.

Unilever led gainers with 100 cedis at 8,900 cedis. Mobil Oil Ghana Limited went up by 51 cedis at 24,101 cedis, Produce Buying Company appreciated by 50 cedis at 1,200 cedis and Guinness Ghana Limited also gained 50 cedis at 3,950 cedis.

Camelot was 20 cedis better at 620 cedis, SSB Bank rose by 16 cedis at 8,066 cedis and Standard Chartered Bank inched up by one cedi at 58,606 cedis.

The change in year to date was up at 87.22 per cent. Market capitalization was up at 10,192.27 billion cedis from 10,154.65 billion cedis.
