GSE slides again

Accra, Aug. 16, GNA - The Accra bourse slid again in trading dominated by the bears on Tuesday with the GSE All-Share Index, the main market indicator, declining by 3.62 points. A 100-cedi loss by Ghana Commercial Bank negated the gains made by five other equities.

The index ended trading at 4,837.17 points from Monday's close of 4,840.79 points.

Change for the year-to-date now stands at -28.85 per cent. There were six price changes - five up and one down. Ghana Commercial Bank lost 100 cedis at 6,900 cedis, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited was four cedis better at 6,015 cedis, SG-SSB gained 39 cedis at 7,850 cedis, Fan Milk Limited made two cedis 15,007 and Enterprise Insurance Company was one cedi better at 5,002 and CFAO gained three cedis at 390.

Shares that changed hands rose to 373,800 from 55,400 on Monday. Market capitalisation was down at 91,989.29 billion cedis from 91,998.84 billion cedis on Monday from 3,383.22 issued shares.
