Agona Swedru, Jan 5, GNA - The customers in the Agona Swedru District are indebted to the tune of 3 billion cedis to the Ghana Water Company.
Mr Thomas Appiah, Commercial Manager of the Company, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday at Swedru, said the company had put in place effective plans to retrieve the money from the defaulters.
He said the company would prosecute defaulters as from January this year.
Mr Appiah appealed to customers whose lines had been disconnected to endeavour to settle their bills before they were dragged to court. He attributed the intermittent water shortage in the area to lack of power supply by the Electricity Company of Ghana and asked customers of the Water Company to exercise restraint.
