Amasaman (GAR), June 25, - The Ga Rural Bank today presented cheques valued at 482,000 cedis to four needy students. The amount represents the total expenditure for the four students for one term. The bank expects to spend about 1.4 million cedis annually on their behalf for the next three years. Master Joseph Kwatei Quartey of Amasaman Secondary School received 60,000 Cedis, Michael Fiscian of Presbyterian Secondary, Legon had 180,000 cedis while Miss Sarah Acoeshieho of Adeiso Presbyterian School, got 90,000 cedis. The fourth, Miss Joyce Aryee of Saint John's Grammar Secondary, Achimota, received 52,000 Cedfis. The chairman of the board of directors, Mr Andrew N. Aryeetey, urged the students to study hard and pass their examinations with flying colours. He said the scholarship will as from next year be awarded to students based on their performance at school and to shareholders children. Mr Aryeetey appealed to the people to buy shares in the bank so that their children could also benefit from the scheme.
