The Management of Ghana Airways has greatly been concerned about the misinformation being peddled, ostensibly following the publication in The Independent of Thursday, 10th July 2003 that the national airline will not have an aircraft for its operations after July 17th.
The general public is assured that operations of Ghana Airways will certainly continue after July 17th and beyond.
It is worthy of note that by a planned programme, one of the airline's DC10 aircraft, currently the only one in service to Europe, will be due for maintenance checks in Rome. This notwithstanding, suitable arrangements are being made to ensure continuity of service to our European destinations.
Passengers are therefore assured that the normal Ghana Airways schedules will be maintained, and that their travel plans with Ghana Airways will in no way be hampered.
For the information of the general public, the Management of Ghana Airways is optimistic about the successful completion of on-going negotiations with Alitalia for the release of our aircraft from their maintenance facility in Rome.
