HOWARD COUNTY, MD (March 18, 2004)- The Howard County Economic Development Authority's International Trade Center (ITC) announces Ghana Day 2004. Mr. Isaac Aggrey, Acting Ambassador, Mr. Johnson Adasi, Minister Counselor of Trade and Investment and Mr. Ivor Agyeman Duah, Minister Counselor for Public Affairs from the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana will address participants at a one-day conference to take place on April 16, 2004 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Center for Business and Technology Development, 9250 Bendix Road-North, Columbia, Maryland.
Ghana is recognized as the gateway to a growing West African region and provides enormous economic potential for local companies wishing to develop international trade opportunities. The Ghana Day 2004 conference will include discussion of various incentives available to U.S. firms wishing to operate or invest in Ghana, the identification of products, services and technologies appropriate for Ghana, with particular focus on the IT/Telecommunications, tourism/hospitality, and agribusiness industries.
In addition to speakers from the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana, guests will include Howard County Executive Jim Robey, as well as local businesses/agencies experienced in international trade and investment.
This initiative by the Howard County Economic Development Authority's International Trade Center is presented in partnership with the African American Coalition of Howard County, the African Art Museum of Maryland-Institute of African Commerce and Culture, the Embassy of Ghana, the Maryland Department of Agriculture, the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development Office of International Trade, and the U.S. Export Assistance Center.
