Ghana Energy Awards 2018: AMERI Energy is Emerging Energy Company of the Year

AMERI Energy has been adjudged winner of the Emerging Energy Company of the Year for power award at the 2018 Ghana Energy Awards held here in Accra.

AMERI Energy is a Dubai based company responsible for the supply of 250MW ISO rated power sited in Aboadze near VRA’s thermal power complex to ease load shedding in the country.

This was after the Mahama-led government signed a $510 million contract with AMERI to build power plants, own and operate it for five years before transferring it to the government of Ghana during the energy crisis in 2015.

The Plant comprises ten (10) GE TM 2500 and its associated balance of plant equipment. It operates on natural gas which is feed into the 161kV power transmission network.

The company has so far trained over 80 percent of Ghanaian local staff on how to maintain and operate the plant

At the Ghana Energy Awards 2018 the company AMERI Energy emerged winner in the category of the Emerging Energy Company of the year after competing with Apha Power ventures and Sun In Limited.

The Energy Awards is held to acknowledge efforts, innovation, and excellence stewards and to celebrate the tremendous work of the players competing under various categories of the awards in Ghana’s energy sector. Ghana Energy Awards Scheme was instituted to recognize the efforts of individuals and organizations in Ghana’s energy sector.

The second edition of the awards recognized the achievements of individuals and companies in the energy industry and was well attended by over 300 stakeholders.
