Minister in charge of power, Boakye Agyarko, has revealed that government is confident in winning the protracted court case against Ivory Coast regarding the exploration of oil in specific fields.

hana and the Ivory Coast are currently facing it out at the International Law of the Sea Tribunal following political clashes between both countries over who indeed is entitled to the exploration of oil on the specific land.

“With the final judgment by September 2017, the Ghana legal and technical team has put in their very best efforts, consequently we are very hopeful of securing a favorable decision, it is expected that the ruling will provide investors with the certainty they need to make long term investment decisions in this country,” Agyarko noted.

Meanwhile, the legal tussle between Ghana and Ivory Coast is believed not to have any repercussions on the bilateral ties between both countries as former president Mahama in a recent visit to the country resolved that both countries are seeking due process to put the 3 year dispute to rest once and for all.
