Ghana Stock Exchange in healthy gain

Accra, July 7, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) recovered on Wednesday after weak performances in three successive trading sessions. The GSE All Share Index, the main market index, rose by 48.97 points to end trading at 7,097.87 points from Monday's close of 7,048.90 points.

Total shares that changed hands rose to 227,500 from Monday's close of 83,600 shares.

Change for the year is now 99.75 per cent while market capitalisation was up at 97,094.19 billion cedis from 3,359.67 million issued shares from 96,968.67 billion cedis during Monday trading. On the broader market, there were four price changes, all positive.

Unilever was 1,800 cedis better at 24,500 cedis, Patterson Zochonis gained 295 cedis at 3,650 cedis, Fan Milk Limited rose by 89 cedis at 7,900 cedis and Accra Brewery Limited gained 12 cedis at 1,180 cedis.
