The Ghana Youth Entrepreneurship Convention will be held on March 15 and 16 at the British Council in Accra.

The event, with the theme; “Bolstering Business Skills for the 21st Century Entrepreneur” aims at supporting young entrepreneurs who are drivers of growth in Ghana.

The event will also serve as a starting point for discussions about how the financial sector, government, youth and other key stakeholders can work together to strengthen the Ghanaian entrepreneurial ecosystem and reduce youth unemployment in the country.

During the convention, there would be workshops and trainings which would be led by some top notch industry players such as Africa Aurora Business Network, Deloitte, Ghanaian Angel Investors, Eric Osei and Renald Appiah, GIZ and Youth Empowerment Synergy Ghana.

Panel discussions with successful young entrepreneurs and key stakeholders in the field of entrepreneurship from Ghana and abroad would also be featured on the programme.

Speaking on the importance of the event, Founder of the Youth Business Network Foundation, Solomon stated that, “The Convention aims to build the capacities of young entrepreneurs to ensure they can provide stable jobs, complementing the government’s efforts to curb the perennial youth un-and-under employment facing the nation of Ghana.”

Co-Director of Child & Youth Finance International, Lubna Shaban added that, “On average, youth-led enterprises employ 10 other youth. The potential impact youth-led businesses can have on reducing youth unemployment is therefore huge.”

In partnership with Mastercard Foundation and the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, Ye! and YBN are organizing the Youth Entrepreneurship Convention with support from the Ministry of Business Development, the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) and the National Youth Authority.
