The Chairman of Groupe Nduom, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom says the president’s aim of putting Ghana on the level beyond aid will be achieved if local enterprises are supported.

According to him, the action to put Ghana beyond aid can start with Ghanaians supporting made in Ghana goods and patronizing them.

“If you bring more new factories to my district we’ll be happy, but we have some there including my own… we can do a partnership with government and expand it, make it bigger, learn from our mistakes and it will move,” he said.

The business guru noted that the vision of President Akufo-Addo to take Ghana beyond aid was not out of place but it just needed a concrete plan to bring it into fruition.

Speaking at the Ghana Economic Forum, Dr. Nduom added that he got into rice milling by mistake but he has realized that it is lucrative.

“we got into rice milling almost by mistake so we have a rice mill in Worawora in the Volta region. It’s a wonderful rice and therefore we are investing in three more rice mills… we want to make that rice project a one district one factory project in all the ten regions,” he stated.

Dr. Nduom was optimistic that with the support of government and other key players in the economy towards rice production in Ghana, rice importation can be reduced by 30% in 3years.
