Ghana's Top Lager Re-Launched

Ghana's top selling and favorite lager beer, Star, has been re-launched by its producers, Ghana Breweries Limited (GBL).

It was a double-headed re-launch - with separate functions taking place at Kumasi's Jofel Restaurant and Accra's Next Door.

Mr. Samuel Kusi Asomah performed the Kumasi function of unveiling the new look label for Star lager, while Mrs. Door Platenga, commercial director of GBL, extolled the values of Star and expressed deep optimism at the brand's future.

Mr. Kusi Asomah is managing director of Askus Limited, GBL's best nation-wide distributor of 2001.

He hoped Star and GBL would continue to provide employment, revenue and community services to the nation as brands and corporate body grow from strength to strength.

Mrs. Door Platenga explained that though Star has brought much "brightness and joy" to many Ghanaians in the past 40 years, it is time for the brand to shine even brighter.

This philosophy underlines the decision to incorporate a Golden Star (a replacement for the former Silver Star) on Star lager labels.

The change in label will be accompanied by a Come Alive campaign involving TV/Radio commercials, bill-boards and point-of-sale material.
