The Deputy Coordinator for the Free Senior High School (FSHS) Secretariat, Nana Afrah Sika Mensah, has commented that Ghana will be filled with many innovative STEM professionals who will solve societal problems.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) professionals who are currently in school will produce mind-boggling projects to propel the nation towards great development.
In an exclusive interview, Nana Afrah Sika Mensah mentioned that the STEMNNOVATION competition initiative by the FSHS Secretariat has harnessed the potential of students in SHS, Senior High Technical Schools, and Technical and Vocational Education Training institutions in Ghana.
She emphasized that this will prepare the youth to undertake projects that will have a significant impact on various interventions to maintain national sustainability.
According to her, it is crucial to invest in the STEMNNOVATION project by the Education Ministry to increase the number of Ghana's STEM professionals for national development.
"Ghana's future is filled with distinguished STEM professionals who are ready to address societal challenges and achieve long-lasting socio-economic development," she reiterated.
She commended Obuasi Technical Institute for emerging as the victors of the STEMNNOVATION 2024 competition by showcasing innovative spirits and dedication to outperform other competitors.
This year's STEMNOVATION focused on four critical areas essential for Ghana's development: sustainable energy, environmental sustainability, food sovereignty, and digital technology.
She expressed gratitude to all organizations and individuals who contributed to making STEMNNOVATION 2024 a success.
