Nominations are currently open for the Ghana Beverage Awards 2018 with many Ghanaians turning in their nominations for their favourite brands.

Speaking on the need to have consumers contribute to the process Executive Member of Consumer Protection Agency (CPA), Mr. Nana Prempeh said;

"As a representative body of Ghanaian consumers and a partner to the organisers of GBA, CPA is particularly excited that the general public can add its voice to the process. This is important because at the end of the day, our beverages end on the tables of consumers."

"As a voice of the consumer we are here to ensure that the companies participating in the awards are those that respect consumer safety," He added.

A section of the public engaged expressed their satisfaction with the open nomination process. Daniel Nti, a shop owner and dealer in general goods in Accra said;

"I think this move to involve the public is commendable. For me, it makes the process fair since we are the ones who buy the drinks"

Akua Kyei a seamstress at New Town also said "this is a good consideration. I have already gone ahead to nominate my favourite brand. We should all participate so that we know that the brands in the awards truly represent our preferences."

The Ghana Beverage Awards is organized by Global Media Alliance to recognize beverage producers and their brands excelling in various specialties. GBA rewards companies’ adherence to high quality standards and their overall contribution to the Ghanaian economy.
