Golden Star Bogoso Prestea honours its long serving workers

Bogoso, May 17, GNA - Golden Star Bogoso Prestea Limited (GSBPL) has awarded 135 of its long service employees at Bogoso. The award scheme, instituted in 2006, is organized annually to motivate and retain long serving staff. The theme for the occasion was "Honouring our chief asset"
This year 16 employees, who have served five years in the company, received a refrigerator with a certificate while those who served 10 received 10 bags of cement, a packet of roofing sheets and a certificate .
The acting General Manager of GSBPL, Mr. John Miller, said the fact that the company was honouring long serving workers showed that it had been successful and had been providing employment for decades. He said the company's responsibility within the next 20 years would be to ensure that 93it continues to operate so that one day we will be handing out long service awards to our grandchildren."
Mr Miller said safety was not about a company's statistics but about all employees finishing work and going home safely to meet their families.
He said when their work was unsafe it puts others at risk and jeopardized the happiness as well as well being of their families.
The Human Resource and Administrative Manager, Mr. Francis Aduku, said said though the path has been challenging the company was able to survive with the support of the employees.
In a speech read on behalf of the District Chief Executive for Prestea Huni-Valley, Mr. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe, said the assembly recognized the critical roles companies such as GSBPL play in the socio economic develop of the people.
