Gov’t urged to organise exhibitions for investment

Mr Prosper Adabla, First Vice President of Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI), said the Ivorian forum and exhibition was an eye opener and Ghana could do same to woo investors.

He said: “Being the gateway to Africa, Ghana could organise similar forums and exhibitions on a broader international scale such as this one to achieve sustainable growth”.

Mr Adabla, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency during the Investment in Cote d’Ivoire (ICI 2014), said the Ivorians identified the needs of every sector of their economy, drew programmes and invited investors across the world to come and illuminate their objectives required to achieve sustainable growth in each sector.

He said during the ICI 2014, discussions were held on how best to incubate small scale industries and set up standards to help the country grow financially.

Mr Adabla said Ghana could learn a lot from the ICI 2014 and organise a similar one for the global investor community to see the investment opportunities to enable them to invest in the country.

He said Ghana lacked a definite set of programmes for the growth of the export sector and small scale enterprises and called on the Government to establish such programmes to grow the sector.

Mr Adabla called for trade liberalization and free moment of goods and people in the West African sub-region.
