The Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders (GIFF), the Customs House Brokers Association of Ghana (CUBAG), the Association of Customs House Agents Ghana (ACHAG), and the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) have jointly called on the government to tap into the expertise of Dormaa Central MP, John Kwame Adu-Jack.

Adu-Jack, who also serves as the Treasurer of GIFF, has been praised by industry leaders for his exceptional leadership qualities and extensive experience in trade, transport, and finance. His background as a freight forwarder has given him a deep understanding of the industry's nuances, while his ability to communicate complex economic issues has earned him widespread recognition.

The Committee of Freight Forwarders' Associations (CoFFA)—which comprises GIFF, CUBAG, ACHAG, and FIATA—has urged the government to appoint individuals like Adu-Jack, who have played significant roles in the industry's growth and development, to spearhead efforts in advancing Ghana’s logistics and transport sector.

Kwabena Ofosu Appiah, former President of GIFF, described Adu-Jack as a "gem" capable of strengthening Ghana's trade and finance sector. "He knows the transit trade inside out, understands intra-border trade thoroughly and effectively communicates complex economic issues," he said.

Edward Tetteh-Owusu Akrong, another former GIFF President, highlighted Adu-Jack's contributions to the rollout and implementation of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS). "He played a key role in identifying loopholes in the system, saving industry players millions of cedis," he noted.

David Nutakor, Vice President of FIATA, also commended Adu-Jack’s financial management expertise, honed through his role as Treasurer of GIFF and Head of the Finance Department at KAAF University College.

As Ghana looks to expand its logistics and transport sector, industry leaders believe figures like John Kwame Adu-Jack have a vital role to play. The trade associations are hopeful that the government will heed their call and leverage Adu-Jack’s expertise to drive growth and progress.
