Sunyani (B/A), Aug 28, GNA - Mr. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, at the weekend urged religious leaders to help instil discipline, good planning and leadership skills in the youth to enable them to become productive.
Addressing the closing session of a national youth conference of members of Pentecostal Life Church International in Sunyani, Mr. Baffour-Awuah advised the youth to be guided by Biblical principles to become responsible adults.
The conference was on the theme: "Speaking on the theme: "Diligence, planning and investment - the power and key to success", Mr. Baffour-Awuah said government was making plans to create more job opportunities to make the youth self-reliant.
He called on religious leaders to be bold to question the sources of income of members of their congregation in order not to expose their religious institutions to public ridicule and disrepute. In a sermon, the Reverend Dr. Atta Asamoa Amofa, Deputy General Superintendent of the Church, advised the youth not to allow certain situations to sway them from achieving their aims and objectives. He advised them to channel their resources to research into knowledge and the implementation of Godly principles to make them successful in life.
"There should be a clear distinction between your previous lives and your Christian youth life," he said. Rev Dr. Amofa asked parents to instil honesty and diligence in the upbringing of their children and assist them to unearth their talents to become responsible in society. 28 Aug. 06
