HFC selects 'Homesave' winner

Ms Adelaide Larissa Boye, an employee of the African Mining Services, on Wednesday emerged the grand prize winner of the HFC 2010 Homesave promotions in the final draw game held in Accra.

Ms Boye is the third and final winner of three draws of the promotion.

Previous winners had two-bedroom houses and the grand prize winner would receive a two-bedroom semi-detach house located at Oyarifa.

Mr John Arhinful and Madam Sophia Aryee won the two previous draws.

When called on phone to inform her about the prize, Ms Boye screamed in excitement and doubted whether the good news was true.

“I can’t believe this. I am shocked. Please let me put the phone on loud speaker because I can’t just believe what you are saying”, she screamed when Mr Ernest Afram-Mensah, the master ceremonies, called her immediately the draw was done.

Mr Asare Akuffo, Managing Director of the Bank, described the draw as unique because this was the first time home savers and other savings account holders had the opportunity of winning three 2-bedroom houses in three separate draws.

He said the Bank’s commitment to home ownership since its establishment in 1990 had not wavered and had provided home loans to over 6,000 families through mortgage products.

Mr Akuffo stressed the importance of home ownership and that the savings mobilized towards home ownership was a source for funding of construction of new homes and for provision of new home loans for others.

He said the Bank had identified residential estate financing and the provision of home loans as a strategic growth path over the next three years and advised the over 20,000 home savers and other account holders would be given priority when the houses to be constructed are delivered in 2012.

He congratulated the various winners in the just ended promotion and urged others to save with HFC to benefit from the bank’s favorable conditions.

Some 10 other winners, Eric S. Queye, Cephas Agbeda, and one person known only as Adu took laptop computers, Ibrahim Fyn, Eric Yaw Menase, Laudina Ampah got home theatres while four others took away HFC branded items as consolation prizes.

Ms Boye told the GNA later on phone that she still could not believe the news unless she was handed over with the keys to the house saying, “I hope this is not a scam. I had a call from someone from HFC Bank called Ernest that has given me joy.”
