Since the country's economic crisis began, car owners have been greatly affected as fuel costs have more than tripled. Fuel prices rose from GH¢5 to over GH¢14 in recent times.
Prospective car owners have been encouraged to consider buying cars with smaller fuel capacities to lessen the impact on their pockets.
Checks on cedirates.com on November 6, 2024, have shown that the average cost of petrol is GH¢14.01, compared to GH¢14.04 three months ago.
However, here is a breakdown of the fuel costs of these luxury cars (with full tank) as of Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Land Cruiser: GH¢1,860 - GH¢2,150
F-150: GH¢1,323 - GH¢1,553
Altima: GH¢922 - GH¢1,082
Sorento: GH¢909 - GH¢1,066
C300: GH¢882 - GH¢1,035
Corolla: GH¢735 - GH¢862
Elantra: GH¢668 - GH¢784
Civic: GH¢628 - GH¢737
As it stands state-owned GOIL is currently selling petrol at GH¢14.98.
For the price of diesel, the market leader is selling a litre at GH¢15.45.
Star Oil has also reduced the price of petrol per litre to sell at GH¢13.99.
Additionally, the OMC is selling diesel for GH¢14.90.
