High investor confidence keeps up impressive performance

Accra, March 17, GNA- Trading, on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) ended stronger on Wednesday fuelled by high investor interest in the shares on the bourse.

As many as 13 equities made appreciable price gains to push the GSE All-Share Index, the key stock measure, up by 90.19 points at 5,300.83 points as against 5,210.64 points at the previous close on Monday. The Change in the year to date now stands at 49.18 per cent. Shares that changed hands stood at 332,900.

On the broader market, Aluworks continues its impressive performance with a 65 cedis gain at 6,366 cedis, British American Tobacco was up 78 cedis at 6,350 cedis, Cocoa Processing Company went up 50 cedis at 1,000 cedis, Enterprise Insurance Company was 50 cedis richer at 16,000 cedis and Fan Milk gained five cedis at 5,205 cedis.

Ghana Commercial Bank rose 375 cedis at 14,000 cedis, Guinness Ghana Limited was up 50 cedis at 8,450 cedis, Home Finance Company gained 100 cedis at 8,700 cedis, Mechanical Lloyd Company was up 99 cedis at 1,040 cedis.

Other gainers were Produce Buying Company 20 cedis at 3,920 cedis, SSB Bank, which posted a gain of 385 cedis to end at 25,000 cedis, Trust Bank Limited which was richer 1,500 cedis at 14,500 cedis and Unilever 200 cedis at 17,700 cedis.

Market capitalization was 17,030.35 billion cedis from 16,802.57 billion cedis at the previous close on Monday.
