Ho, Jan. 11, GNA- The Ho Sector of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS), collected 22.4 billion cedis, exceeding its revenue target of 15 billion cedis for last year.
The Sector has 10 stations from Batume Junction near Ziope in the Ho District in the Volta Region to Tinjase in the northern part of the region.
Madam Yaa Kesewa Amponsah, the Sector Commander announced this at the end of year get-together and awards ceremony for personnel of the CEPS on Saturday.
She reminded the personnel that the feat registered did not call for complacency, as it was an indication of the Sector's great potentials to achieve higher targets in future despite the long and difficult times and other challenges that had to be surmounted.
Madam Amponsah however, said events concerning one of the stations in December, last year, became a sad commentary on otherwise a successful year for the Sector.
She said this year, they must gird their loins and resolve to maintain an unblemished record by avoiding acts, which turned to sabotage the economy.
Mr Mawutor Goh, Ho District Chief Executive who chaired the function reminded personnel of their roles in revenue generation and the need to always measure up to expectation.
He commended the Sector for its achievement and urged the personnel to use the get-together for individual and collective assessment to gain greater heights in the future.
Batume Junction was adjudged the overall best station, with Menusu Station emerging as the most improved unit.
Mr Confidence Hiagbe and Mr Kenneth Kyereme were adjudged the overall best Senior and Junior officers respectively and were presented with certificates.
