Huawei shipment exceeds 200 million units

Huawei has announced that its global smartphone shipments and sale for 2018 exceeded 200 million units.

A statement issued by Integriti News Agency, in Accra, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, attributed the new and remarkable record to attributed to the enthusiastic support of consumers and partners around the world, as well as the strength of the smartphone products.

These include Huawei Y9, Huawei P20 and Mate 20 series.

“In the past eight years, Huawei's smartphone shipments have increased from three million units in 2010 to 200 million units in 2018, reflecting approximately a sixty-six-fold growth,” it said.

“In the global smartphone market, Huawei is ranked among the top three players in the world. And in the second and third quarters of 2018, Huawei became the world's second largest smartphone manufacturer, with a global market share of 14.6%”.

The statement said the Company had also led a number of the industry's most popular, innovative, and competitive technological fields, such as photography, battery life, communication, and artificial intelligence.

“Huawei’s commitment to cutting-edge technology, functionality and unparalleled user-experience reflects in the features of all its smartphones and devices. The Huawei P20 series is raising the bar for what smart mobile photography can do, proving that even thin and stylish mobile phones can provide a professional-level photography experience.

“In just few months of its release, it has won more than 16 million users, especially females, thanks to its deliberate cosmetic design. The Huawei Mate 20 series is equipped with the most powerful and sophisticated chip in Huawei history, the Kirin 980. Mate 20 series is smarter and it offers improved and amazing energy efficiency. Within two months of its release it sold over five million units”.


The statement said Huawei had also launched its 5G multi-mode chipset, which enabled smartphones and devices used at home, in the office, and on the go, access wireless connections in the fastest way possible.

“As a 5G pioneer and with more than 5,700 engineers, Huawei began research and development in 5G 10 years ago, and is currently the industry's only vendor that can provide end-to-end 5G systems. The Huawei 5G chipset supports a broad range of products in addition to smartphones, including home broadband devices, vehicle-mounted devices, and 5G modules.

“Huawei smartphones are being used by more than 500 million consumers in more than 170 countries around the world”.

Huawei’s products and services are available in more than 170 countries, and are used by a third of the world’s population, ranking second in the world for mobile phone shipments in 2017.

It has 14 Research and Development in the United States, Germany, Sweden, Russia, India and China.
