Hypersoft to train over 100 local business executives

Accra, Aug. 26, GNA - HYPERSOFT, a corporate ICT training provider is to train over 100 Ghanaian business executives and entrepreneurs in project management skills that would enable them execute projects on time, within budget and on specifications.

The organization, which operates across Africa, would hold a two-week training in Accra, dubbed: "Boot Camp Project", to provide knowledge in project management and Microsoft Project 2003 for interested applicants.

Participants would be equipped with similar processes of project management that were utilized during the rebuilding of the Pentagon after 9/11, the Lou Gerstner's transformation of IBM from a successful IT hardware company to a multifaceted leader in software and computer services, the organization and management of the recent Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, as well as the upcoming Beijing Summer Games. Mr. King Tekpa, Chief Executive Officer of HYPERSOFT told the GNA on Saturday in Accra that a renowned project management professional Mr. Steve Caseley from the US would soon be in Ghana for the programme which is scheduled to begin from August 28, 2006.

He said such a programme had been long overdue since there had been complaints over the years of projects executions such as road construction that were not delivered on time, within budget and specification.

According to him, the failure of executing jobs on time, within budget and on specification had provoked governments to award projects to foreign firms instead of local contractors in order to meet the expectations of the people.

Mr. Tekpa said project management training would teach one how to optimise results through each part of a project's lifecycle and improve its final outcome.

Nine core disciplines of Project Management such as Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resource, Communications, Risk and Procurement Management would be explored as well.

He said project management was also a unique skill that was in short supply and that upon completion of the programme the learner should have enriched his or her understanding of the stages of successful project management and control.

Project management skills are valuable in the aerospace, automobile, business management, construction, engineering, financial services, NGOs, and pharmaceutical industries as well as telecommunications and Information Technology.
