The Chairman of Group Nduom, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, has expressed optimism about the potential restoration of GN Bank's license under the incoming administration of President-Elect John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking to Joy Business after an event at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Dr. Nduom shared his hopes that GN Bank will make a comeback.

He emphasised that the true measure of economic recovery will be felt in the pockets of Ghanaians and the performance of businesses.

"I am confident that GN Bank will come back. The economy, when we feel it, we will know that it's back on its feet. Right now, we're not there. We're not there. Words won't do it. It is how we feel, how our pockets feel, and how businesses feel. That's what's going to be there. So, it's good for people to be optimistic. But the reality is, when it hits, Ghanaians will know," he stated.

He also highlighted the importance of the new administration listening to the needs of the people, especially those in the financial sector.

"The reputation has been there. We just haven't lived up to it. So, now a new group has come. They must listen. They must listen when our people talk. They must listen to business people. They must listen to those in all the different sectors, particularly the financial sector. If they do, businesses will do well. If they don't, well, there'll be problems," Dr. Nduom added.

The restoration of GN Bank's license has been a topic of significant interest, especially following the bank's closure due to regulatory breaches in 2019.
