CEO of Type Company Limited, Coby Asmah has advised young people to have faith in their dreams and not despise little beginnings using his life as an example for them to draw inspiration from.

Mr. Asmah speaking at the launch of L’iane Foundation in Accra on Friday, admonished parents to encourage their children to dream and achieve the best for themselves adding that everyone has an inner motivation to improve and succeed without any exception.

“I had the opportunity to be at the receiving end of my father who inspired, motivated and provoked me to dream and achieve the best, today I employ over 120 Ghanaians and expatriates” he said.

He said, at the tender age of 11 he was introduced to commercial activities by his father which he engaged in and by age 17 he was independent and did not have to depend financially on his parents

“I took advantage of the then ‘afro Moses’ craze while preparing for my A level exams and I became a shoe maker for five years while still in school” he added.

According to him, the world is changing towards the technological epoch which will unfortunately lead to the loss of jobs and therefore the need to raise entrepreneurs to create more jobs.

“To bridge the gap between the losses of jobs as a result of the changing world requires a comprehensive and integrated involvement of all stakeholders, private, public, academia and civil society” he noted.

Mr. Asmah said, entrepreneurs can emerge at any stage of life and from any realm and different personalities regardless of educational background or qualification.

“You don’t have to be an ‘A’ star student to be an entrepreneur” he added.

L'aine foundation hinted on launching an entrepreneurship club challenge which will introduce and inculcate the culture of problem solving into young people in junior high schools in the Ledzorkuku- Krowor Municipality (LEKMA).
