IAA recognises Kasapreko as top rising African brand

The International Advertising Association (IAA), has recognised Kasapreko Company Limited, a leading producer of local alcoholic beverages in the country, as one of Africa’s top rising brands on the continent.

According to the Association, the Kasapreko brand, developed wholly in Ghana, is also gradually becoming a global brand.

Alomo Bitters, the flagship product of Kasapreko in 2013 was among the top five emerging brands in the world, according to a poll conducted by CNN Money.

Michael Lee, Managing Director of IAA, made this known when he led a team to pay a courtesy call on the Founder and Group Chairman of Kasapreko, Dr Kwabena Adjei at his office in Accra.

The visit was to extend invitation to Dr Adjei to be the Guest Speaker at the upcoming global conference dubbed: “Africa Rising: The New Consumer Generation.”

Explaining why the IAA is inviting the Group Chairman of Kasapreko to the event, Mr Lee said: “We are looking at the rising brand of Africa and Kasapreko is at the top of the list.”

“It is a brand that is developed wholly in Ghana and slowly it is becoming a global brand,” he added.

Dr Adjei accepted to speak at the event and expressed appreciation to the IAA for the honour done him and Kasapreko.

The IAA in collaboration with its local affiliate the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) would be holding the event in Accra on April 27 – April 28 this year.

The conference which is the first of its kind would bring together the advertising and marketing communications practitioners working in, or doing business with Africa.

It would also provide a detailed analysis of the present and the future of Africa's wider advertising industry, an in-depth assessment and understanding of the economic, social forces and trends facing consumers, brands and governments in Africa.
