Accra, Nov. 22, GNA - The Chartered Institute of Bankers at the weekend launched this year's 2009 Bankers Week on "the impact of the global financial meltdown, lessons, challenges and opportunities for the Ghanaian economy.
Mr Isaac Owusu- Hemeng, Managing Director of Trust Bank and President of the Institute launched the week in Accra after a keep fit exercise. He asked workers to do more exercises to keep them in good physical shape and mind to undertake their formal duties.
Mr Owusu-Hemeng said most bankers had health problems but were not aware of it and asked them to do a lot of exercises to keep them healthy. He called on medical practitioners to educate the public on the importance of regular physical exercises and its benefits to the body. Activities planned for the week include a day's National Banking Conference to be addressed by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning and a Governors Day Bankers Dinner.
