Sekyere (Ashanti Region), 16 Oct. Barclays Bank Ghana Limited, has since the beginning of the year, made donations totalling 15.6 million cedis to needy institutions, organisations and communities in the Ashanti Region. The institutions are the Kumasi Children's Home, Mampong Babies Home, Jachie Training Centre for the Disabled, Offinso School for the Disabled, the Bekwai Central Destitutes Infirmary, the Wesphalian Village at Oyoko, the Jamasi School for the Deaf and the Sekyere Health and Sanitation Committee. This was announced by Mr. Nat Aryee, Manager of Barclays Bank Ghana Limited, Kumasi main office, at the commissioning of projects undertaken by the Community at Sekyere in the Sekyere East District at the weekend. The projects include a 60 million-cedi clinic and staff quarters financed by the Japanese and American embassies, checking of erosion and tree planting funded by the Netherlands embassy and Barclays Bank. Mr. Aryee said it has been the policy of the bank to set aside one per cent of its profits at the end of each year of successful operations to assist needy institutions, organisations and communities.
