Institutions to participate in Education UK Exhibition

Accra, Feb. 8, GNA - Thirty-five institutions in the United Kingdom will participate in the sixth edition of the annual promotional education=

exhibition at Accra International Conference Centre on February 12 and Miklin Hotel in Kumasi on February 16. It is under the theme" Expanding Your Horizon". Mrs. Juliet Adime Amoah, Business Director of British Council, told a press conference on Tuesday that the rationale behind the exhibition was to create opportunities for people worldwide, through professional, development, cultural relations and education.

She said on display would be UK education and range of training opportunities available for Ghanaian students, employers and employees. "This is in recognition of the increase in the demand for people wit= h UK qualifications," she said. Mrs. Amoah said the exhibition was the Council's approach to marketi= ng UK Education across the globe since the development of human capital was an essential element for development. Mrs. Diana Yanney, Corporate Affairs and Education UK Manager said,"= We believe in creating opportunity for people worldwide. We want to offer al= l the available opportunities for Ghanaians to have access to quality and u= p to date information regarding UK Education". She said there would be presentation on Point Based System (PBS), th= e new UK visa application process, undergraduate and postgraduate studies i= n the UK. Mrs. Yanney said free career and course counselling would be offered= by the representatives from UK universities and other consultancy bodies. She said the exhibition was geared towards creating a platform for Ghanaian students to gain first hand information on education in the UK.
