The 13th International Building Construction and Property Exhibition opens in Accra on Thursday, September 24 to showcase the various products, services and technology in the building and property industry.
The four-day event, on the theme: “Alternative Energy, A Must for Socio-Economic Development," would also seek to offer best deals that people can find in the industry.
The annual Building Construction and Property Exhibition serves as a one-stop shop for products and services and also provides a platform to discuss pertinent issues affecting the industry, as well as provide professional solutions through various seminars and workshops alongside the exhibition.
Speaking at the media launch of the fair, Ms Helen Ankrah, Founder and Head of Ghana Institute of Housing, said the conference would help to showcase products like construction machinery, furniture, and especially plastic based products for construction industry.
She said participants at the conference would also be discussing the National Housing Policy and how the private sector can benefit.
She said as part of the conference, participants would embark on a tour at Cantonment, a suburb of Accra, to inspect the building that recently collapsed and killed its owner, as well as visit old Fadama.
She said the tour at Cantonment would enabled the visiting housing experts discover the materials used in the collapsed building and come out with solutions for the prevention of future occurrence.
Nine chartered members of the Institute of Housing would also be honoured.
In attendance would be Diane Paice, Course Director, Postgraduate Housing Studies, London South Bank University, Symon Sentain, Housing, Property and Regeneration Specialist, UK and host of other international participants.
