Invest in our area - Bawku MCE begs investors

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Bawku in the Upper East Region, Hon. Issaku Bukari has appealed to investors to come and invest in the area following the return of peace in the area over the two-year long chieftaincy disputes.

Hon. Bukari said Bawku is ready to guarantee the peace and successful operations of companies.

The age old conflict between the Mamprusis and the Kusasis has led to loss of lives and stalled development in the area. But speaking to the media at a press conference yesterday, the MCE said, Bawku is ready for business as peace has finally returned to the area.

Justice Anthony Issah who reported from Bawku said, commercial activities in the area has resumed as traders and consumers alike are seen engaging each other for business.

Activities of motor ridding has boomed as riders now feels safe ridding from dawn to dusk, a situation which was not same some years back after government placed and lifted a a ban on motor ridding in Bawku.

Hon. Issaku Bukari admonished residents especially young people to refrain from activities that may raise tension or affect the peace and unity gained' most especially as the country prepares towards the general elections.
