The president of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nana Appiagyei Dankawoso I has hinted that plans are underway to establish cashew processing plants in the country.
Nana Dankawoso I said, it was about time exported goods are processed to boost their value
According to him, the GNCCI and the government through business fora are trying to partner countries on processing goods before exports.
“ We’re trying to partner countries on how we can take advantage of their technology and know how these countries have because all this while we have been producing and sending our exports in raw state and that has not helped us” he said.
He said, the One -District-One-Factory project been championed by the government and the chamber will boost opportunity for potential investors to partner Ghanaians to produce and process cashew and other products before exports.
“This will help us to create more jobs for the unemployed teeming youth”
According to him, there is the need to revisit the polytechnic system of education to produce more qualified and experienced people from the polytechnics.
“We need to revisit the issue polytechnic system to produce more qualified and experienced people to help the 1-District-1-Factory project” he said.
Nana Appiagyei Dankawoso I was speaking at the Ghana-Vietnam trade and investment promotion forum held in Accra.
