Japan Motors To Open New Branch In T'di

IN JUNE NISSAN VEHICLE EXPORTS SET TO INCREASE IN SUB SAHARA AFRICA

Rosslyn, Pretoria (April 4,2008) Vehicle demand in Sub Sahara Africa has over the past few years shown a steady increase with both South African and world motor vehicle manufacturers playing an important role in meeting demand.

One such manufacturer is NISSAN South Africa who through their African Regional Office, have in place a fully fledged operation to provide support to their National Sales Companies located throughout the Sub Sahara Region.

Jim Dando the General Manager of the African Regional Office comments “we have recognized the GDP growth rate in the region of 5.3% for 2007 compared to world average of 3.2% and, we are very bullish with the supply of NISSAN vehicles.

We have in place advanced plans to meet the ever increasing demand of the Region’s markets and to substantiate this we are forecasting a growth in the Total Industry Market from approximately 90,000 in 2002 to 120,000 in 2010”.

An additional benefit is the ability of NISSAN through the African Regional Office to source products on a global basis thus meeting particular country demands.

”Jim Dando continues, global sourcing is perhaps not a new phenomenon; at NISSAN what we attempt to do is refine or improve the process while at the same time recognize opportunities”.

An example of this is the NISSAN Navara 1 ton pick up truck sourced from Thailand. This vehicle is to be introduced into Ghana in June of this year with high expectations of the sales volumes and customer satisfaction. The vehicle is positioned to take advantage of the growth in the 1 ton pick up truck sector of the Sub Sahara market which is expected to show a growth of 25% between 2009 & 2010.

”We have in place the infrastructure which together with the skills, that will over the medium term make NISSAN in Sub Sahara Africa a force to reckoned with concludes Dando. We pride ourselves on error free exports that compliment the NISSAN product”.

Managing Director of Japan Motors, (Mr. Salem Kalmoni) adds that Japan Motors is Poised and ready to add the NAVARA PICK UP to it’s line as it plans to open it’s new branch in Takoradi in June.
